Calling All Installation/Visual Artists: Contribute to our Winter Cityscape
**ART INSTALLATION APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED**
Artists of all kinds, this is your chance to shape the unique landscape of Chinook Blast 2024! Whether you’re a sculptor, visual artist, or creator of immersive experiences, we want to see how your art can transform our festival grounds into a winter wonderland.
We’re seeking interactive experiences that inspire awe, ignite imaginations, and infuse the frosty night with colour and wonder.
We are offering funding opportunities ranging from $5,000 to a maximum of $40,000 for installations. In addition, we have partnered with the City of Calgary’s Winter City Design Competition where an installation that can withstand three months in the winter weather from January to March without the need for security will receive up to $40,000.
This competition presents an excellent opportunity for artists to introduce public-friendly, winter-centric tactical urbanism designs that promote outdoor winter engagement for the community. The winning installation designs will be showcased in prominent locations such as Olympic Plaza, along Stephen Avenue, and throughout Greater Downtown during Chinook Blast.

We’re dedicated to promoting diversity in our programming and warmly welcome applications from events and initiatives led by equity-deserving community members.
