Chinook Blast 2027 – Programming Partner Call for Proposals

Calling all performers, artists, and live experience creators!

We’re looking for individuals and organizations ready to host events, performances, or programs that embody Calgary’s winter spirit during Chinook Blast 2027. Whether it’s an artistic performance, a sporting event, or a one-of-a-kind live experience, this is your chance to shine.

Selected programming partners may receive funding of up to $5,000 (inclusive of GST) from the Chinook Blast Committee & Events team.

Who can apply

To be considered for funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience executing and programming arts, sporting, or live experience events
  • Calgary-based individuals or organizations who will hold their event or program within Calgary city limits during the festival dates: January 29 to February 15, 2027.
  • Commitment to providing one or more hours of onsite programming at the Chinook Blast Hub (Eau Claire Plaza or Prince’s Island Park Lagoon) during festival site hours. All programming must take place outdoors and be suitable for temperatures as low as −20°C, including windchill.
  • Selection of two preferred activation sites from the options provided, to be indicated in your application.
  • Programming that fits within the Chinook Blast winter experience, celebrating Calgary’s winter by encouraging the community to bundle up and enjoy the festival outdoors.
