Calling all architects, artists, designers, students, and multi-disciplinary creators!
Help to shape Chinook Blast 2027.
We’re looking for innovative public art and design installations that spark curiosity, encourage people to stop, play and explore, and bring energy and excitement to the winter season, both under the evening lights and throughout the day.
Selected installations will be showcased at the Chinook Blast Hub at Eau Claire Plaza & Prince’s Island Lagoon throughout the festival, running Friday, January 29th to Monday, February 15th, 2027.
Funding opportunities for selected installations range from $2,000 to $20,000. We’re looking for thoughtful, conceptually strong proposals that create memorable winter experiences, encourage social interaction, and celebrate the spirit of Chinook Blast.
This call is open to local, regional, national, and international applicants, with priority given to Calgary-based artists and teams that include Calgary-based collaborators. Proposals from individuals or teams are welcome. At least one team member must have credible technical and fabrication experience.
