The Under $200 Art Show and Mini Showcase promises a boutique edition of the beloved Under $100 Art Show. For one weekend only, visit the booths of over 30 local artists, enjoy live demos, and take a workshop.
The Chinese Lunar New Year welcomes the year of the snake! No matter your heritage, come watch dragon and lion dances and multicultural performances. Enjoy art exhibits, food, games, and a marketplace.
Light Up the Night – Lights and Installations
Feel the infinity of Echo of Snow as you walk between two mirrored 6-foot snowflakes reflecting thousands of lights.
Get up close and personal with a pack of wolves without, you know, getting close to real-live wolves. At night! INFRA makes it possible to mingle with wolves; their glow mimicking thermal imagery.
Journey Through the Stars underneath a star-like light installation accompanied by stories inspired by folklore, history, and imagination as written by local authors.
There are EIGHT all-new light installations this year. Make sure you see them all!
Move to the Beat – Music
Our Chinook dance didn’t deliver as hoped. We’re expecting a cold front this weekend, so we’ve modified our plans.
While it’s still “warm,” the RISE UP Calgary Community Outdoor Stage on Stephen Ave. welcomes two musical performances tonight (Friday):
- Dhanak at the RISE UP Calgary Community Outdoor Stage on Friday, January 31, from 6:45 – 7:45 pm
- Sargeant x Comrade at the RISE UP Calgary Community Outdoor Stage on Friday, January 31, from 8:30 – 10 pm
There is, however, a point below 0ºC when boogying can no longer suffice as your primary source of heat, so we’ve moved the Saturday concerts to the second floor of THE CORE (324 8 Ave SW) on Stephen Ave. Performance times will now be 3 pm to 6 pm.
Either way, admission is free!
Watch Calgary Come Alive – Performances
On Friday, find plenty of roaming performers along Stephen Ave. at night, including GLOWful Wanderings on stilts and Puppet Stuff Canada with Creatures of the Deep and Bird is the Word.
The Confluence
The Confluence’s outdoor programming has been cancelled on Saturday, February 1, and Sunday, February 2. Check back next weekend for some outdoor fun!

- Find a Chinook Blast mascot QR code – located at the bottom of some Chinook Blast signs. These QR codes will be on Stephen Ave and at The Confluence.
- Scan the QR code with your smartphone camera and follow the link.
- Take a photo with the AR mascot.
