About

WP Puppet Theatre is proud to present Puppets Plus! Part of our Puppet Power Arts Series, this special new annual event offers a unique collaboration between a team of creative kids and a guest artist.

Puppets Plus! consists of 4 amazing events!

  • Puppet-making workshop with children facilitated by Wendy Passmore-Godfrey
  • Family friendly afternoon shadow puppet performance and a concert with Matricia Bauer
  • Loom beading workshop for children facilitated by Matricia Bauer
  • Drumming and singing workshop for adults gently facilitated by Matricia Bauer
  • BONUS: Hot chocolate and cookies after the puppet performance!

The full day program on Saturday February 17, 2024 starts with a puppet making workshop with children facilitated by WP Puppet Theatre’s Artistic Director, Wendy Passmore-Godfrey. This creative workshop concludes in a family friendly afternoon performance with the kids performing and Matricia Bauer underscoring their show with drumming followed by hot chocolate and cookies.

Inspired by Dr Suess’s lovely book My Many Coloured Days, the program supports children’s emotional literacy while being fun and visually stunning. The book describes feelings with different colours and animals; our program will feature native Alberta animals. Under the guidance of Wendy Passmore-Godfrey participants will explore the magic of light and shade as they make shadow puppets to present the story of My Many Coloured Days.

The overall program will be in English with some Cree language included.
