Bio

I’ve been sculpting wood, sand, ice, and snow for the last 10 years. Creativity is an essential need for my survival as breathing, food, shelter, friendship and coffee are too. Sculpting is my soul’s workout, providing deep meaning to my life.

Nature is my ultimate muse, whispering ideas into my tools, and helping me reveal what’s hiding in the medium itself. I’m not just about shaping things, creating shadow, heights and light, animal or abstract, I’m on a mission to shape smiles and openly bring reflection on those who witness my Art.

Bio

Michael’s space pod crash landed into the Montreal area long ago (date unknown). He was raised by Sheilah and Ed in Montreal. They are not artists. Being raised as human was not easy for Michael. A little over a decade ago, Michael decided to leave his career as an actor, bartender, bricklayer, woodworker, chef, boatbuilder to pursue a life of chainsaw carving (naturally). And now we are here. Michael now lives in Fernie, BC where he has a studio gallery and he gets to carve with Marie Line Gagne everyday. He is coupled. He has procreated.
