Chinook Blast Returns in 2026 – Same Winter Magic,
New Downtown Setting!

Artists of all disciplines, this is your opportunity to leave your mark on Chinook Blast 2026! Whether you’re a sculptor, visual artist, or creator of immersive experiences, we invite you to showcase how your art can transform our festival grounds into a mesmerizing winter wonderland.

We’re looking for interactive installations that captivate, spark imagination, and bring vibrant colour and wonder to the winter nights.

Funding opportunities for chosen installations range from $5,000 to a maximum of $30,000. Additionally, we’ve teamed up with the City of Calgary’s Winter City Design Competition, offering up to a maximum $45,000 for two installations that can endure three months of winter weather from the end of January through April.

This is an excellent opportunity for artists to introduce public-friendly, winter-focused tactical urbanism designs that promote outdoor winter engagement in the community. Selected Art Installations will be showcased in prime locations at our Chinook Blast Hub in Eau Claire Plaza & Prince’s Island Lagoon.
